Mike G. with friends Steve Burke and
Jeremy Pape delivered Lucy from
Beaufort, SC to Marsh Harbor, Abacos
(Bahamas) with a stop in Pompano
Beach to have a new inverter
installed. As we approached Cape
Canaveral heading south, the
weather turned rough (30 knots of
wind -10 foot seas - on the nose) so
we ducked into the Intercoastal
Waterway and finished the trip to
Pompano out of the ocean. After some
mechanical work in Pompano, we
crossed the Gulf Stream to West End,
Bahamas in 25 knot winds and 6-10
foot seas. But Lucy handled it well
and we hardly got wet, making a very
fast passage to West End (Grand
Bahama). From there we meandered our
way to Marsh Harbor, stopping at
Great Sale Cay, Alans-Pensacola Cay
and Green Turtle Cay. |
